What is Coaching? 

Coaching is a judgment-free relationship between coach and client, dedicated to the development of the client. Through careful listening and compassionate inquiries, the coach begins to understand the client’s reality and the challenges they face. Drawing upon a wide range of methodologies, tools and models the coach brings new awareness and options to the issues; supporting the client to make realistic and meaningful change.

I work exclusively with a select amount of clients each year. Agreeing a tailored approach with you - Confidentiality and discretion guaranteed.

How long is coaching required?

The length of coaching can vary, from short periods to a longer-term relationship, especially when working with deep-seated habits, recurring issues and matters of heart and relationship. Ultimately, one of my aims is to help you become Self-sufficient within a realistic period that's appropriate for you.

To start, it is often useful to begin with a fairly long first session (90/120minutes) so we get to know each other and build the foundations of trust, while also becoming clear about your aims and how we work together. After this, sessions tend to normalise to approximately 1 hour and we agree any integration work that might be required between sessions to support you.

Depending upon the issue, weekly coaching can be best at first, then reducing to monthly sessions. Naturally, we can always maintain our contact via telephone or Skype to work around busy diaries and schedules.

Different Types of Coaching

There are a wide range of coaching types; see below some examples of the coaching I offer.

Freeing the Mind/Creating Fulfilment:   In this specialist area of coaching, we discover the inner tools that allow us to step past the limiting thoughts, judgments and reactions of the mind. We learn how not to create unhealthy emotions and the art of dissolving a’ bad’ day, we dive into unconditional love and discover our personal well of fulfilment and natural creativity and how to bring these into our life and relationships.  We learn how to be fully authentic. 

A Valued Life: It is essential that we live our values. Values form our personal direction as they represent the things that are most important to us. We feel rewarded and worthwhile when we live a valued life and can feel empty and frustrated when we don’t.

It's easy to drift away from our values to leave ourselves feeling 'off centre', without being able to pinpoint what's missing or how to get back on track. Reconnecting to a valued life, making courageous change, taking healthy risk and becoming clear about the life you want to live, whether in personal relationships, at home or in your career, are all-possible through coaching. Helping you to re-awaken to your fullest potential.

Personality Coaching: We all have many secure facets to our personality which are positive, creative and open. While hidden behind our masks, others less useful personality tendencies lurk in the background, rearing-up at critical times to disrupt our happiness, emotional well-being and important relationships. Here we take a playful look at the characteristics that get in the way, through a proven, scientificaly validated, personality assessment. This accurately reveals your many strengths and the how the unwelcome characters pop-up once in a while to disrupt your happiness and success. We then create a clear plan of action that helps you grow beyond those aspects of personality that you choose to let go. It's one of the most rewarding personal journey's. 

Performance Coaching: Everyone needs to perform against the demands of healthy competition, and if you are in the chapter of your life where winning and 'performing in the zone' are essential, consider performance coaching. It is likely you have tasted success before and perhaps you have lost a little of your edge recently. Every top performer has experienced the plateau and so helping you to reinvigorate a winning mind-set, motivation, new energy and the success-habits, for your sport, art or career is the role of the coach.

Work and Leadership Coaching: Coaching for leaders is on the increase as it is recognised that it can help you to be more effective and efficient Providing a context to explore issues from new perspectives that might not be possible when you are just talking to other people in the same business. Here we grow our understanding, communication and character.

Developmental Coaching: When things in life are going reasonably well and you feel that you would like to take the opportunity to improve yourself. In these times, coaching can help you to increase your range of skills, make the most of your talents, and work to address your weaknesses.

Remedial Coaching: Under the pressures and demands of a modern lifestyle it is easy to suffer stress, anxiety, overwhelm, doubt, fear and feel uncomfortable about impending change. We might feel as though we are under achieving, losing ground, missing opportunities or that we don’t have enough resources to respond creatively. In these types of situations, coaching can be particularly helpful to reconnect with your inner resourcefulness, strength and effectiveness. A little non-judgmental support from an external viewpoint to help you get clear about the situation and how you can best respond.

How much does it cost?

I have a flexible payment structure to support the different needs of clients for a session of face-to-face, telephone or Skype coaching.

To put this into context, consider the range of prices you might pay for an accomplished tradesman or interior designer and the different and additional skills they offer - And I’m sure you wouldn’t want to hire a cowboy coach?  In particular, when you consider the important work involved in redesigning the interior of your happiness, feelings and loving relationships.
